Crisandra Gray

Operations & Grants Management Associate

Crisandra Gray joined Strategic Grant Partners in June 2016 to provide overall general administrative support. Crisandra’s background includes several years of administrative and customer service experience across various business environments. In the past, Crisandra has provided office support at Boston University, as well as MetLife. Crisandra is a Class One graduate from Year Up. She earned her BS from Johnson & Wales University with a major in Computer Network Engineering.

Joanna Jacobson

Founder and Managing Partner

Joanna Jacobson is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Strategic Grant Partners, a venture philanthropy organization that is both a foundation and pro-bono consulting firm. She is also the President of the One8 Foundation.  Previous to this, Ms. Jacobson’s career was in private industry where she held senior management and marketing positions in turnaround businesses including the President of the Keds Corporation and SVP Marketing and Product Development at Converse Corporation. Earlier in her career, she worked at Colgate-Palmolive in product management and worldwide new product development. She has also taught at the Harvard Business School and was a partner in Core Strategy Group, a marketing strategy consultancy.

Ms. Jacobson earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University. She serves on the boards of Youth Villages MA, HBS Social Enterprise Initiative and Unlocking Potential Education Network.

Jean Kim

Portfolio Manager

Jean Kim is a Portfolio Manager for Education at Strategic Grant Partners. Prior to joining SGP, Jean worked at Excel Academy Charter Schools as a founding Dean of Operations, helping to launch and grow its first high school, and later as Director of Strategic Growth, leading the organization’s strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Excel Academy, Jean worked as a strategy consultant both at Oliver Wyman, where she specialized in the financial sector, and at District Management Council, where she specialized in K-12 public school districts. Jean holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Yale University.

Stephanie Loder

Executive Assistant

Stephanie Loder is the Executive Assistant to Joanna Jacobson. She is responsible for calendar management, scheduling, travel arrangements, and for providing overall general administrative support. Stephanie’s background includes over 10 years of administrative experience across several different business environments. She has a strong background in real estate business management and transactions. Prior to a year spent teaching pre-school, Stephanie worked for one of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s top real estate brokers. Stephanie earned her BA from Sonoma State University with a major in Music.

Shannon Magner


Shannon is an Associate for Education at Strategic Grant Partners. Prior to joining SGP, Shannon was with Deloitte in the London and San Francisco offices, providing advisory services for clients across the financial services industry. She is engaged in improving financial literacy and supports several local non-profits in reaching under-served communities. Shannon holds a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley and is a licensed CA CPA.

Mike McQuillan


Mike is an Associate for Education at Strategic Grant Partners. Prior to joining SGP, Mike was a senior associate at Investor Group Services, a Boston-based strategy consulting firm, where he worked on strategic projects for private equity and corporate clients across a variety of industries. Mike received a BA in Economics from Bowdoin College.

Kate Mosle


Kate is an Associate for Education at Strategic Grant Partners. Before joining SGP, Kate was a consultant in the Dallas office of the Boston Consulting Group and worked on projects with local education organizations as well as Fortune 500 companies. Kate received a B.A. in History from Stanford University.

Anna Sikorsky

Director of Operations & Administration

Anna is the Director of Operations & Administration for SGP. Before joining SGP, Anna was employed in the field of data management and office administration at the Steamship Authority where she administered a computerized asset management system, creating reports and presentations for management. Earlier in her career, she worked at Boston College in the Dean’s Office for the School of Education. Anna holds a Bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a Master of Education degree from Boston College in the area of Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation.

Emily Snider


Emily is an Associate for Education at Strategic Grant Partners. Previously, Emily worked as a Strategy & Operations consultant at Deloitte, a management consulting firm, where she worked on projects for a variety of nonprofit and higher education clients. Emily received a BA in Sociology from Bowdoin College.

Barbara Sullivan

Director, Education

Barbara Sullivan is the Education Director for Strategic Grant Partners, managing all K-12 related education grant making. Prior to joining SGP, Barbara was a Senior Principal and a member of the leadership team at the Parthenon Group. While at Parthenon, Barbara led numerous strategic planning engagements and worked closely with educational leaders in states, districts and philanthropic organizations. Before joining Parthenon, Barbara was a Broad Resident in the Boston Public Schools (BPS). During her tenure, Barbara served as Special Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and spearheaded the redesign of the district’s student assignment process. Barbara was also a consultant for Bain & Company, where she worked primarily with Fortune 500 consumer products and telecommunications companies. Barbara holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. She is a founding member of the boards of UP Academy Charter Schools of Boston and Dorchester as well as the Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School.
