
Boston Prep Charter Public School is a free, open-enrollment, public charter school primarily serving students from the Boston neighborhoods of Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, and Hyde Park. Boston Prep’s mission is to prepare students to succeed in four-year colleges and to embody, in thought and action, lifelong ethical growth. It is one of the highest-performing public high schools in the city and serves a student population that is 94% African American and Hispanic, 62% high needs, and 39% economically disadvantaged. For six years in a row, 100% of Boston Prep graduates have been accepted to four-year colleges, 98% have matriculated to college the semester following graduation, and 83% of Boston Prep alumni to date have completed or are persisting in college.
Boston Prep’s model combines rigorous curriculum and instruction, a highly dedicated staff of educators, a data-driven culture of continuous improvement, integrated college preparation and graduate support services, and intentional ethical development to deliver outstanding results for local students. Boston Prep currently serves roughly 470 students grades 6-12, and is the process of growing to 700 students by 2022.
