Brooke Charter Schools are free, open-enrollment, public charter schools dedicated to getting under-served students to and through college. The Brooke network now serves roughly 1,500 students in grades K-8 in three schools in Boston. More than 95% of Brooke’s students are black and Latino and roughly 80% are low-income.
Brooke students are shattering the achievement gap. On the 2015 PARCC state assessment Brooke was the top performing district in grades 3-8 proficiency across the state. Brooke achieves these outstanding results through its commitment to one key belief: great teaching can close the achievement gap. Every decision Brooke makes comes back to delivering great teaching to every Brooke student every hour of every day of the year – the kind of teaching that pushes students to become avid readers, writers, and thinkers, with a rock-solid foundation in content.
