The Knowledge is Power Program (or KIPP) is a national network of 200 charter schools that serves nearly 80,000 elementary, middle and high school students. KIPP operates under the fundamental belief that all students can perform at high levels when given adequate supports. KIPP came to the Commonwealth in 2004 with the founding of KIPP Massachusetts (KIPP MA), which has opened five schools to date: three in Lynn and two in Boston.
KIPP Lynn’s results are especially impressive. KIPP Lynn benefits from strong leadership and a dedicated team of teachers who are committed to helping its students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to maximize their potential in college and the world beyond. Over 90% of students from the class of 2016 matriculated to college; 85% of students enrolled in 4-year degree programs. KIPP Lynn strives to serve students who are representative of their home community. Nearly 90% of KIPP Lynn’s students are black or Hispanic; 48% are economically disadvantaged. KIPP Lynn is in the process of building out a full K-12 system and will serve 1,560 students by the 2019-20 school year. The KIPP MA Website
